Little Surfer Girl was created near the artist’s home in Redondo Beach. Robert stands
invisibly behind a black-clad model as he outlines her and the surfboard with
a small flashlight. Halfway through this eight-minute exposure, the model and
the board exit the shot allowing time for their images to become translucent.
Coincidentally, the surfboard looks like a petal from the flower on the lifeguard station.
