Robert Kawika Sheer's Star
Trail photographs are between five and seven hours long; they record
the movement of the stars across the night sky. During the exposure,
a lantern often illuminates objects
in the foreground.

KITT PEAK
When this gigantic radio-telescope dish pivots every few
minutes,
it looks and sounds like an invader from space. After opening the
shutter, I wait two hours for the dish to rotate into the perfect
position,
and then I light it up like crazy. This four-hour exposure is created
near Tucson, Arizona.
